MIT defines digital transformation as the use of technology to radically improve performance or reach of enterprises. IT Brief reported on a survey, Keeping Score: Why Digital Transformation Matters. The survey found Australian businesses are embracing digital transformation. Findings showed:  

• 88% of organisations have started their digital transformation.
• 84% of respondents are defining a vision for a new, digital enterprise.
• 87% are using digital technology to redefine their business and interactions with their customers.

Channel Life predicts "digital transformation will attain ‘macroeconomic’ scale over the next three to four years, changing the way enterprises operate and reshaping the global economy."

In keeping with the need for digital transformation, the Australian government has created a new Digital Transformation Agency. It administers all digital transformations in government and oversees the digital service standards that all new digital services by the Australian government must meet. The latest GovInnovate summit is all about helping the public sector to achieve excellence in service design, digital delivery and security.

There are two basic steps to bring your company into the digital age.

Define your digital strategy. Know your target audience. Understand what the customers you are dealing want and need. Design your marketing objectives to appeal to your clients as you meet and surpass those wants and needs.

Execute your digital strategy. Appoint a person or a committee to design or choose a platform to propel your business into the digital age.
